A Group of Carrots

One of our Teacher aides came to school today with some carrots she had found in her garden....these three carrots had grown together in quite a tight knot.
How interesting...have you seen anything like this before?

Lachie and Rebecca's garden

We chose to take some plants out of our garden over the holidays and make it into our vege garden  because it was a nice sunny spot. We collected some stones from the river and painted them and wrote the names of the plants on them to use as markers. Our seeds are starting to come through - the radishes were first.  We are still waiting for the carrots to pop up, but the beetroot are starting, the peas, corn and beans are growing and the sunflowers and calendulas are growing well.We have just put some pet and bird friendly snail bait around the plants because we noticed they were getting eaten!

Noah and Bella's Garden

We planted our seeds in the first week of the school holidays. We have made our main garden smaller this year, but have used pots and other garden areas to plant some of our seeds. It is so exciting to watch our changes in our garden and to see everything growing (even the weeds). We think the warmer weather and rain have helped our seeds to grow into seedlings.

From Mrs Ross's Garden

I have been enjoying some time in the garden during these holidays... This morning I planted some parsley and basil, plus a couple of lettuces and the shallots that Mrs Scott had given me. It is a long time since I have grown shallots. I'm not sure if I planted them correctly. I just put them all in a little clump a few centimetres apart...right or wrong??
Happy Gardening.
